 HAPPY NEW YEAR !
This New Year’s Day is particularly auspicious -the first Full Moon of the year rises today, Jan.1, 2018.  It’s the first time the moon has been full on New Year’s Day in decades!

Full Moons are always an optimal time for reflection, and for releasing anything that no longer serves us, including unhealthy habits, toxic people, negative situations…or the global angst of the world itself. Since today’s  Wolf Moon is also a Super Moon, it's power will be amplified, so…

Here’s a super-simple Full Moon Ritual you can do to start your year off right.

 You’ll need:

A candle of any type- a glass-encased votive is probably  best but any candle will do.

A fire-proof container to put the candle in- a large cooking pot or metal bowl works just fine.

A pen or pencil and two pieces of paper

Matches or a lighter

Take some quiet time to gather your thoughts. Decide what  you want to release this year and also what  energy you’d like to welcome into your life in 2018.

Make two lists: one with everything you’re letting go of the other with your New Year’s intentions and  all the good energy , habits and people you’d like to fill  your life with.

Fold up the intentions list and stick it under your pillow. When you wake on January 2, put it on your altar or somewhere safe like a keepsake box. Refer back to it whenever you feel you need to.

Now for the list of everything you’d like to leave behind: Fill your fireproof bowl with an inch or two of water, and pop your votive candle into it. Bring the whole thing outside- or if you live  in an apartment or somewhere super cold, bring it to a window where the moon light will shine in.

Light the candle. Fold up the paper with your “Buh-Bye” list on it, and stick it into the candle’s flame. Meditate on what you’re releasing as the paper burns. If possible, let the candle burn in the moon light until it completely burns out.

Have a blessed 2018 from The Divinination Nation!
